I've got a very easy nail art design to show you today. I guess you've all heard about "fishtail braid nails" now because they are very popular at the moment. I saw a gorgeous manicure Lucy did a few days ago and since then, I've been wanting to try it!
I did this manicure as part of the Sunday Nail Battle, which is organised by Odile from Odile Sacoche, and Andreia from 10tubes, with also the participation of Pshiiit.
I think the design is very pretty and it seemed easy enough for me to try. I found two different ways to achieve this look. With the 1st one, you paint directly the stripes on your nails while with the second technique, you first paint some stripes on a scotch tape and then apply these scotch stripes onto your nails.
I tried the 1st technique (using this tutorial) but miserably failed at it. I didn't like the fact that the final result got quite thick and that I couldn't paint very straight lines. So I took inspiration from the second technique (tutorial HERE) but did it slightly differently.

I got another gorgeous Lac Attack polish to show. It's Rydell Forever! This polish was inspired by Grease, the musical, in the same way as other polishes from Lac Attack that you can see here.

Rydell Forever is a red and white glitter inspired by Rydell High's school colors. This polish is jam packed with red and white hexes and bar glitters - perfect for showing off school spirit or your love for Grease.For this manicure, I layered one coat of Rydell forever over 2 coats of OPI DS Coronation. Grease Lightning is an amazing silver holographic glitter polish.
It contains silver holographic glitters in all shapes and sizes: hexes, diamonds, squares, and teeny tiny bars/tinsel.

Today, I'll show another polish from A-England the Legends collection. I already posted swatches of Princess Sabra and Saint George. You can click on their respective names to be led to the corresponding post.
So let's bring Princess Tears on the scene! Princess Tears is described as a silvered lilac holographic polish.
The above picture was taken with flash to show you the lilac in Princess Tears. It's really present on the nails but it doesn't photograph well (except with flash).
Final verdict: With every A-England polish I've tried so far, I'm always so impressed with their quality, elegance, and beauty! And Princess Tears follows this rule of thumb. It's an intriguing polish (as a lot of A-England in fact) because it's difficult to say if it's a silvered lilac or a silver with lilac in it. It's interesting because the purple keeps disappearing and reapparing on your nails as you wave them. It's a real duochrome IMO because sometimes you only see silver and the holo pattern while somtimes you clearly see the lilac in it. It's very fascinating to move your nails to see this change! In any case, the overall color is really pretty and elegant looking. The holo is rather scattered but really present! The application was perfect and it needed 3 coats to reach full opactiy!

This is a quick post to show you what I've done for PAA's Monday challenge. The theme was "patchwork nails". I didn't have much time to do it but that's what I came with.
This is a quick post to show you what I've done for PAA's Monday challenge. The theme was "patchwork nails". I didn't have much time to do it but that's what I came with.
This is 2 coats of Nubar Honeysuckle. You can see my review for this polish here. It's a bright pink cream. I kept this polish for 3 days and then added a small deco on it. I applied a thin coat of Nfu Oh 83, a glitter pink polish...but unfortunately we don't see anything here...I'll have to do a better combo to show this Nfu Oh's true value! Next step involved the tape technique. I cut 2 pieces of tape for each nail and covered the pink place in the above picture with these pieces of tape. Then I polished my nails with Essence - Style For Summer Nights, a silver polish with foil finish. And finally I added white lines with a small brush.

(Yeah, I already used #95...)
They don't seem to be that holo in the bottle but that's a totally different story on the nails.
And I also picked some hand lotions because they looked so cute and the smell is really sweet and enjoyable. Each bottle contains 30 mL. And the pack with the 12 bottles costs 32000 won (29$).
And I got some nail files as a gift but forgot to take some pictures...XD

It was a bit difficult to chose which polishes I wanted to buy because there were so many gorgeous polishes available. I know I absolutely wanted to buy some holos and flakies and there were also some awesome multichromes that I didn't know but looked gorgeous in the bottle.

OK, I was so impatient to try them that I swatched them on fake nails...unfortunately I don't have any nail wheels so I did as I could....and these pictures don't do any justice to the polishes...but this is just a first rought to get an idea...I'll do proper swatches on my nails and you will be able to see the polishes better...

| These are more complex shades IRL. They have some multichromes hidden in them...For example, #95 has some blue, green, gold and pink! So I will HAVE to show you better swatches of these ones! |

What do you think of linear holos? Do you mind that they are not 3 free?
I've been wearing a gorgeous linear holo for a few days and I wanted to share it with you. This lovely is DS Sapphire (OPI).
DS Sapphire is part of OPI Designer Series and is sadly discontinued. The previous DS linear holo are not 3 free (OPI's older formula). 3 free means they are free from dibutyl phtalate (DBP), formaldehyde and toluene. And that's why OPI discontinued them because their new formula is now 3 free and "safer" for health.
And oh yeah, DS Sapphire has really a strong smell (due to this older formula).
DS Sapphire is really sheer. On the pictures below I used 4 coats. I guess it would be a great polish for layering. I will have to try to layer it over different color. I'm sure the result would be pretty interesting. I'lll let you know.
DS Sapphire is silvery but with a light purple underdone. I noticed it especially when you applied it, you can see some lilac in it....
The pictures were taken under artificial light.

This was insanely sparkly! I did it on bare nails but I guess it would look even better on a dark base color like dark blue.
Then I added some stamping (BM 19) and did an accent nail with OPI Black Shatter.

The picture might seem a bit blurry but it is not. Only the nails look like that. This might be due to the over sparkly nail polish that gave a hard time to my camera that couldn't manage so many glitters at a time! Even in the dark and without flash, it sparkles like crazy!
In fact, I bought some time ago a beautiful sparkling glitter powder bottle from NYX called "GOG23 Disco Ball". This is sincerely the most sparkly thing I've ever seen in my all life! This is just crazy! The glitter powder looks silver with a tones of glitters that reflect the light to give a beautiful rainbow pattern. The different colors are really strong. They bump into your eyes! Impossible not to notice them.
As this was my first Franken, I tried to do it on a small glass plate and not in a full polish bottle.
For this I started to put some glitters, about half of a tea spoon on the plate and then added a few drops of clear nail polish. Then I mixed everything with a toothpick and applied it on the nails.

In the spotlight today is "Happi", a pretty pink perfectly suited for spring and summer!
Happi is part of The Zoya Reverie Collection (Spring 2010). This collection offers a bunch of bright and shimmery nail polishes. Most of them are duochrome or flash a gold light.
So Happi is a bublblegum pink that flashes gold like crazy! This gold iridescence is really strong. No need to search for it, you will find it for sure, even in dim light.
Application was flawless. A good coverage can easily be achieved with 2 coats.
What can I add?...I'm so happy whenever I wear Happi because I love duochrome nail polishes! If you do like this kind of effect, you will be very please with the whole Reverie Collection! I'm sure "Reece" (magenta that flashes gold) should be a total winner! I want her!
