OPI has a new collection and it's inspired by the beautiful Fiji islands! It will be available soon in Switzerland (Feb 8th, 2017) :D

The collection consists of 12 polishes. They are all available in normal formula (nail lacquer formula), in Infinite Shine and in Gel Color. I will have swatches of the 12 polishes very soon but for now I have a nail art I did with some of the blue colors of this collection. It reminds me of an ocean and I think it's suits perfectly the Fiji theme! :D 

I actually did this nail art to celebrate Fanny's birthday on Instagram a few weeks ago.

It's been more than a year since I last tried a water marble. I was in a mood for a subtle, clean, and neutral look but wanted a little extra. That's why I decided to go for a neutral fall shade and an accent nail done with the water marble technique.

I have seen a lot of lovely girls doing saran wrap/cling film manicures lately and I find it so pretty, I had to try!
So here we go :D

I used 2 coats of Illamasqua Wink as my base color, let it completely dry. I did it on all my nails. Then I grabbed some cling film and made a small ball out of it. When Wink was completely dry, I applied one coat (no need to apply it carefully) of Illamasqua Jo'mina and immediately dabbed the plastic ball onto my nail to remove some of Jo'mina an create this marble effect. You have to do one nail after the other because you want your last color to be still yet. I followed this tutorial here and took some pictures of the whole process ;D

It's super easy and fast!!

So in order to celebrate it, I did a Korean inspired mani.

I tried to recreate the Korean symbol that is called "Samtaegeuk (삼태극 or 三太極)" with a swirl water marble and I free handed the Korean flag...

The "Samtaegeuk" is a variant of the UmYang symbol. The UmYang symbol (that corresponds to the Chinese Yin-Yang symbol) is the symbol found at the center of the Korean flag. Here the red represents Um, the blue represents Yang, and the yellow represents Chong. Um and Yang represent opposing yet balanced forces such as day and night, hot and cold, masculine and feminine. Chong represents mankind. The Samtaegeuk as a whole represents the balances between these opposing forces and mankind's influence on and harmony with those balances.

I really enjoyed doing this water marble so I think I will do other water marbles in the future.
