Dior Lip Tattoo - Swatches & Review

Dior has just released a new "lipstick" formula and it's a lip tattoo: Dior Addict Lip Tattoo Long Wear Colored Tint!
Lip tattoos or lip tints are so convenient when you want something that doesn't budge all day and you don't want to worry about your lipstick without sacrificing color payoff!
There are so many lip tints in Korean brands but not so much in Western products. That said, it seem that at the moment, a lot of Western brands are also coming with more lip tattoo formulas (cf Lancôme matte shakers, Armani lip magnets etc) so I was super excited and happy when I saw that Dior was releasing these lip tattoos -as I love lip tints :p
There are 6 different colors available (beige, rosewood, berry, cherry, coral, and pink) and I have 4 of them to show you!
I find the packaging super pretty, it's simple yet chic and elegant à la Dior. The lip tattoos come with a doe-foot applicator that is small but perfect to easily apply the tint in a precise way.
In terms of formulation, Dior lip tatto has a liquid formula but it is not watery, it's a bit creamy (less than a milk tint though). It takes a couple of minutes to dry down completely. When first applied it looks a bit glossy and then it dries down to a natural satin finish. It doesn't feel drying upon application and doesn't really emphasize dry patches. After ~5hours however it start feeling a bit drying but nothing uncomfortable. The intensity of the color is modulable. With 1 layer, it has a see-through finish and with 2 layers it's fully opaque.
It' not 100% transfer-proof but almost. They typically last beween 5-6 hours on me. Natural Rosewood lasts 4-5h while Cherry lasts 6-7h. The 2 others colors last 5-6hours. They all stain the lips and fade evenly. They don't flake or anything like that.
Overall they feel comfortable, you can't feel them on your lips, they stain the lips and last something between 5-6h.
I really like the color range, usually for lip tints we always have red, pink and orange so I love the rosewood and berry shades here! I've been wearing them non-stop! I think they both look natural and are great everyday colors! And I'm not normally into coral colors but Natural Coral is just so beautiful and summery that it's one of my favorites!

Dior products can be purchased from your regular Dior counter (e.g., Sephora, Selfridges, Nordstrom) or directly through dior.com. In Switzerland you can find them at Manor, Douglas, Marionnaud, and Jelmoli for example.

DeleteTotally agree liptints aren't that popular in western culture . I haven't tried any western ones yet but I'm hoping this catches on
ReplyDeleteYes, that's interesting to see how popular they are in Korea for example but not so much here (yes benetint is old and famous but that's the only one I can think of, maybe YSL stains?). Anyway I think it's great to see more brands going into that direction because I love them! And I think Dior did a nice job with these lip tattoos!
