Supernovae is a duochrome that shifts from copper to purple. Its base is a greyish purple. The color shifts is rather subtle. It's quite sheer on the first coat but can be built up nicely in 3 coats.
Picture taken with flash to show you the purple in it. |
Passionate Pink is a thermal polish that changes color when it's hot/warm and cold. When it's cold it's a medium purple. It shifts to a bright pink when it's warm. It's a jelly.
This polish is very sheer. I used 4 coats on my index and middle finger and 3 coats on my other nails and you can see that even with 4 coats, it's not completely opaque. This opacity is absolutely great for glitter sandwich manicures but personally I would have preferred if it were a bit more opaque. Another thing I have to mention is that it contained a few pigment particles (cf. the purple dot on my pinkie and index).
As it was quite sheer, I also layered it over white for the following pictures.
Lumos is a clear top coat that glows green in the dark. By the way, in Harry Potter, lumos is the spell that creates a beam of light that shines from the wand tip, like a flashlight.
I tried it over a dark and a light color and what is great is that it doesn't change the base color. It just add a little bit of texture to the base color but it can be smoothed out with top coat.
I used 1 coat of Lumos over Essie Vested Interest. Pictures are without additional top coat.
I used 1 coat of Lumos over Essie Blanc.
So what do you think about these polishes? Have you ever heard about Polish Alcoholic polishes?
