Some new Shiseido Products

Hi everyone!
This week has been long and tough so I'm happy to finally be on weekend and have some time to rest! How has your week?

Today I have some Shiseido products to show you! 2 matte lippies, a brown mascara, an eyeliner and a new cream! Let's have a look together, shall we?

The lipsticks! Shiseido launched new colors last fall in their Rouge Rouge line. The Rouge Rouge lipsticks are lipsticks with a gorgeous luminous satin/matte finish. They are the first Shiseido lipsticks I've tried and I must say that I was more than impressed. First the packaging feels sturdy, it's a bit on the heavy side and feels super luxurious when you hold it in your hands. It has a magnetic closure that adds to the luxury touch.
Both colors I have here feel extremely comfortable and the finish is matte to satin. They last pretty well on the lips 4-5h (the orange a bit more than that). I really like the formula of these. They're creamy and feel super comfortable but dry to a matte finish. They're approved!
Oh and I LOVE love love the color of Desert Quartz! :D I also love the details of the bullet and how Shiseido is written on it.

Next we have the Instroke Eyeliner. Inspired by the ink used in Japanese calligraphy, "this intense, highly pigmented, water-resistant gel eyeliner lets you draw your desired lines effortlessly in one stroke. Defines bold or delicate lines without creasing, blurring, skipping or smudging."
I totally agree with the without creasing or smudging part but I think to draw a line in one stroke is a bit difficult with it. That said, I think it’s relatively easy to create a very precise wing with it although I'm not an eyeliner expert. What I like the most is the color and how smudge-proof it is!
It is also super practical because the pot features a slit to wipe off excess product from the brush. It avoid the pot to get too dirty! :D and it comes with a small brush that is totally useable and easy to maneuver.

Shiseido Full Lash Waterproof Multi dimension mascara is a volumizing mascara. I find it's a good everyday mascara, especially because the brown color makes the look softer and because it gives lenghth and volume but nothing too crazy. I've experienced no flaking or smearing throughout the day while wearing it.

And last but not least, Shiseido has just launched a new cream, the Essential Energy Moisturizing Cream. It's available in a gel, regular cream and cream with SPF formula.

I got the regular cream formula and I think this is a pretty nice moisturizing cream that is not too heavy but that still feels quite nourishing. It's easily absorbed (almost immediately), is not sticky and doesn't leave a film on the skin. On me, it dries to a matte finish, which means it works great as a day cream, but you can also use it in the evening. I must admit that I haven't used it much yet, I've just recieved it a couple of weeks ago and haven't had time to fully incorporate it in my routine. But so far I quite like the finish it leaves on the skin, i.e. smooth and matte finish.

Note that it is quite strongly fragranced. It has a flowery scent, but I find it rather pleasant. Shiseido describes it as a hint of rose and jasmine combines with fruity scents of pear, slightly sweet lime, and a wave of orange. If your skin doesn't tolerate or if you don't like fragranced products, take note.

In terms of ingredients, briefly, it contains a lot of texture modifying agents; Shiseido always wants people to experience delightful sensations when they apply their skincare products so lot of effort goes into the texture of the creams and their scent in my opinion. Also pretty high in the ingredient list is betaine, a humectant (draw and retain water in the skin) and anti-irritant and soothing ingredient, also present is glycerin, a classical humectant (it contains other humectants but in lower amount) and some emollients and skin conditioning ingredients. There are some very interesting botanical extracts but unfortunately they are much lower in the list (in lower concentration). It contains alcohol but I think the rest of the formula should keep it from doing much harm (i.e., shouldn't dry or irritate the skin).
I find it a bit too expensive (80-90 CHF) but if you have the budget and like the texture and scent, go for it :)
I will probably udpate my thoughts about it (here or on IG) when I use it more. By the way, I edited my thoughts on the Waso gel (here) after I've almost used up the jar.

Do you have some Shiseido products you would recommend me to try? I would love to discover the brand more, so please let me know ;)
