Goodal Green Tangerine Honey Moist Cream

1:20 PM

Hi everyone! A skincare review on the blog today and it's all about Goodal Green Tangerine Honey Moist Cream!

Goodal is a brand that I've wanted to try for a while, so I was really happy when I ordered this cream. I only knew their sheet masks which I love.
The Green Tangerine line has 3 sublines, one for normal, one for oily and one for dry skin. The Honey Moist Cream targets more dry skin but with my combi skin it also works nicely as a night cream.

 WHAT IS IT?
« Dense hydration from Jeju green tangerine and canola honey. Antioxidant and bioflavonoid-rich green tangerine combined with moisture-drawing canola honey fills every inch of skin with dense hydration.  Rich honey-like texture for a dewy and lustrous sheen. »
It is actually a highly moisturizing cream that contains lots of emollients, niacinamide for brightening and panthenol for soothing properties and of course, tangerine, honey and honey-derived products such as royal jelly and propolis.

Name: Goodal Green Tangerine Honey Moist Cream
Content: 50 mL
Country: South Korea
Price: USD 17.48 (now USD 13.98) on jolse.com

Scent: it definitely has a sweet tangerine scent with a hint of honey.
Texture: it's a dense cream but slightly gellified, which makes it very nourrishing but not suffocating. When you press it with your finger and then lift your finger, it makes some strings (you know what I mean, right, otherwise look at the pictures below).

INGREDIENT ANALYSIS

Considering the main ingredients of this cream, it contains
  • solvents and humectants (Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol,) for hydration, i.e. bring and retain water into your skin
  • Emollients and texture enhancers (Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, , Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Cetyl Alcohol, Shea Butter)
  • Niacinamide : improve skin’s elasticity, enhance its barrier function, stimulate microcirculation, help erase discolorations, and revive skin’s healthy tone and texture (i.e. it’s brightening).
  • Panthenol : anti-irritant/soothing, moisturizer, help skin heal faster
  • And then there are a bunch of botanical extracts with antioxidant, such as tumeric root, cocoa extract and Corallina Officinalis Extract (a red seaweed), and antimicrobial properties, such as Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract. Also present is tangerine peel extract (fragrant plant that can be sensitizing), honey (humectant, antioxidant, antibacterial), mango seed butter (moisturizing), royal jelly (humectant, anti-inflammatory), and propolis (antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and wound healing properties). Then you have other texture modifiers and that’s is for the main ingredients of the product.

THOUGHTS
This is a very moisturizing cream that I like using in the evening. What I enjoy is that although it's a rather thick cream (it's advertized as a honey-like texture), it's not too thick to the point it's suffocating. It has a slightly gellified texture which makes it lighter and the feeling on the skin is also improved. It actually feels really nice on and it spreads well on the skin and leaves the skin feeling "moist" and nourished.

The scent is also something I enjoy. Yes, unscented products are great because they pose less risk of sensitivity (fragrance can be sensitizing), but I must admit I really enjoy this sweet tangerine scent with a hint of honey and it actually makes me want to use it. So in the end, I'm rather happy with the scent :D

In terms of ingredients, I'm happy to find honey in it and lots of botanical extracts!
Overall very happy with this cream because I like the texture, scent and ingredients and it's a great product to use when my skin feels drier (aka very often during this winter...I've also used less sheet masks, that could be a reason my skin is drier by the way!!). I've almost finished the jar, which means I loved it, right? ;) and yes, that's a cream I'm adding to my list of solid products that I could repurchase!
If you have combo to dry skin, that's a cream you could like! :D

  1. I love when moisturisers are all stringy like that! Might have to pass on this one for now as I'm oily in a very humid climate, so my skin is very well moisturised... This is one for when I'm back in a colder place :)

    1. I also like that ;D Yes for oily skin it will be too much. That said they have a green tangerine line for oily skin with a gel moisturizer, I haven't checked it though
