M·A·C Velvetease Lip Pencils
11:13 PM
Hi everyone,
Last February M·A·C launched a new lip product in their permanent line, the Velvetease Lip Pencils.
According to M·A·C, "the new Velvetease Pencil delivers the vivid colour impact of a lipstick with the ease of a mechanical pencil…no sharpener required. Go for daring in blackened plum, classic red and warm chocolate, while light pinks and buttery nudes say chic in more subtle hues. Rich and matte, with a smooth, clean finish, creamy colour has never been simpler. But there’s no need to be choosy. There’s one for every type."
If you want to have a look at the different colors available, I posted the PR info here.
I got 2 shades, Oh Honey and Reddy to Go!
Oh Honey is described as a “warm chocolate.” It's a rather light brown with clearly warm undertones.
It has a good color payoff and a light creamy texture that is easy to work with. The texture is really lightweight and you can barely feel it on your lips. It dries down to a matte finish. It lasts about 4 hours on me.
Reddy to Go is described as a “deep brick red.” It's a medium deep red with slightly warm undertones (almost neutral). It has the same texture as Oh Honey but lasts longer on the lips, about 5 hours.
And here is a comparison with popular shades to give you an idea how the colors compare.
Honestly, I absolutely love the texture of these matte lip pencils. They are comfortable to wear and have a good lasting power even the lighter shade, Oh Honey. I was first scared Oh Honey wouldn't show well on my lips but no, the color looks really beautiful and unique. So happy I got it! And of course, Reddy To Go, is a gorgeous shade and I love how it looks paired with the matte finish! I'm really happy I got these 2 shades and I hope M·A·C will come with more colors of Velvetease in the future!
