PACKAGING:
The oil comes in a plastic bottle that dispenses the product via a dropper applicator. The applicator delivers one drop at a time and is not messy.
HOW IT LOOKS/FEELS/SMELLS:
The Radiance Oil contains mainly capric triglycerides. These molecules have a very light, silky feel that is not at all greasy. Therefore there is no oily feeling on the skin despite it's called an oil.
So if you don't feel confident with facial oils, don't worry because here the ingredients and feel is completely different from vegetable oils. The Radiance Oil does feel really silky on skin and that's what surprised me the most when I first tried it!
It's quite runny in terms of viscosity. There is a slight nice fragrance but I can't tell what exactly it is. Sorry!
"Dry oil / Silky feel / Doesn't feel greesy at all"
HOW TO USE IT:
Apply a few drops onto fingertips and smooth over the face and throat before your moisturizer. Alternatively you can also add a drop to your moisturizer.
KEY INGREDIENTS:
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a lipid able to protect the skin from water loss, helping the barrier function of the skin, it's an excellent emollient and skin-repairing ingredient.
The Radiance Oil contains a lot of other emollients and skin-conditioning agents, vitamins, and a blend of antioxidants to protect the skin against environmental assaults.
All these ingredients help nourish the skin and protect it. The plant-based oils help fortify skin with lipids so skin stays resilient.
INGREDIENT LIST:
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (thickener/emulsifier, emollient), Octyldodecanol (thickener, emollient), Dimethicone (emollient, slip agent, silicone), Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate (skin-conditioning agent, thickener), Trisiloxane (skin-conditioning agent), Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil (triglycerides + antioxidants), Polyisobutene (thickeners, film-forming agent), Tricaprylin (emollient), Phytosterols (emollients), Silybum Marianum Seed Oil (antioxidants), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil (moisturizer), Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil (antioxidant, whitening), Oxycoccus Palustris (Cranberry) Seed Oil (antioxidant), Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil (emollient, antioxidant), Tocopheryl Acetate (antioxidant), Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, BHT, Fragrance (Parfum).
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerid is a type of lipids able to protect the skin from water loss, helping the barrier
function of the skin. It is composed of a mix of fatty acids. These fatty acids are important because skin can utilize them to repair its surface. Due to its non greasy nature, it's works as a great moisturizer for dry and oily skin.
Among the plant-based oils of the Radiance Oil, there is olive oil, well know for its huge amount of antioxidants that bring protection against ageing by inhibiting oxidative stress (1, 2, 3).
Silybum marianum (milk thistle) seed oil, avocado oil and cranberry seed oil also have antioxidant properties (4).
Coconut Oil has been reported to have positive effect on wound healing and is a rich source of medium-chain fatty acids (moisturizer) (5, 6).
Tocopheryl Acetate is a vitamin E derivative, considered a superactive antioxidant.
Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is a stable form of vitamin C. This form of vitamin C has been shown (at 7%) to stimulate healthy collagen production and reduce wrinkle depth (7).
THOUGHTS:
As I said, I was pleasantly suprised by the texture of this oil because it doesn't feel greasy at all. It feels light and silky on the skin.
I'm really happy with the ingredients of this oil. It contains lots of emollients, a mix of plant oils with antioxidant properties, and a couple of antioxidant vitamins, i.e. everything to make your skin happy!
Moreover the triglycerides are excellent skin-repairing ingredients and will help reinforce your skin barrier function.
I noticed that when I apply a couple of drops on my face, it immediately gets brighter (byebye dullness) and more supple.
If you have dehydrated skin, this is a product you may want to have within reach because all the skin-reparing ingredients it contains will be great allies for you. Of course, if your skin is dehydratedyou will need an additional moisturizer.
If you have dry, normal or even oily skin, I think it's a great product to use once a day.
