Cleansers! oh...how I love cleansers! I think I like almost every type of cleansers but my favorites are oil and foam cleansers.
Today I have a review of Tony Moly Tako Pore All-In-One Cleansing Stick. You can find it online on K-beauty retailers and it's also available at Sephora.
WHAT IS IT?
It’s a dual-ended stick that contains a solid stick cleanser on one side and a silicone brush on the other side to achieve an easy deep cleanse.
The stick easily glides onto skin. It’s dispensed as a balm which melts into an oil to break down makeup and dissolve impurities. Finally when you add water it slightly lathers. In that sense, it works as all-in-one oil and foam cleanser.

HOW TO USE IT?
- Apply the cleansing stick directly to dry skin.
- With clean fingers, massage balm gently to remove eye and lip makeup.
- Using the attached pore brush, wet the brush and massage over skin until fine bubbles begin to foam.
- Rinse face with warm water.
- Rinse the brush thoroughly with water and let fully dry before using again. (Brush head can be detached if needed.)

Formulated with 60% Sunflower Seed Oil this cleansing stick works well to remove makeup and sunscreen. It also contains some surfactants and cleansing agents, such as Diethylhexyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate, a waxy solid and PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate , some thickeners (Polyethylene, Silica), Propylene Glycol to prevent the stick from melting at high temperatures, emollient (Cetyl Ethylhexanoate), and then comes fragrance. Then, in lower amounts, you can find charcoal powder, sea salt, montmorillonite (a type of clay) and some botanical extracts.
Although it contains a high amount of sunflower oil, when you apply it on the skin it doesn’t really feel oily. By the way I first thought this was a foam cleanser and that’s why I checked the pH (which is around 6.5 by the way). Considering it’s an oil-based cleanser, pH makes less sense….That said, now that I’ve tried to just run my finger on the skin, I get an oily product on my finger so yes, there is definitely oil in it but again when you cleanse your skin with it, it doesn’t feel oily. For me it rather feels like a gel cleanser.
It is able to remove very easily products such as foundation, sunscreen, lipsticks but struggle a bit more with super pigmented eyeliners.
I usually use it in the evening to remove my face makeup (for eye makeup, I always micellar water on cotton pads). I find it super convenient, you don’t have product that runs everywhere and it’s quickly done. It has a medium charcoal-soap scent that I find rather nice as it feels “clean”. It doesn’t leave the skin squeaky clean (which is a good sign) or dry. Skin feels supple and clean. It’s not an aggressive cleanser. I first thought the brush would be too harsh but it’s OK. Not my favorite type of brush but it can be convenient especially when you travel as the brush can provides a deeper cleanse. I don’t use it every time but from time to time I like using it, maybe once a week.
Overall, although it comes in a cute packaging, it’s not just a cute product but it does the job very well. This is a product I could totally repurchase.
