LUSH - Easter collection and Store tour

12:25 AM

Last month I had the pleasure to be invited by Lush for a store tour, just in time for the launch of the Easter collection!
I went to the Lush Store at Rue de Rive in Geneva ;D The sales assistant was so nice, sincerely, she explained me so many things and she had a story for almost all products in the shop. It was super interesting! Thank you so much if you're reading this :D

I don't know if it's the same for you, but every time I enter a Lush store, I feel like I'm in a candy store, it's so colorful and fun! And the smell!
As I had my camera with me, I took some pictures of my favorite products and I also picked a few Easter products that I'll show you in this blog post!

The products I picked are:
  • Wash Behind Your Ears (Easter collection): a jasmin-rose scented shower gel that has the color of carrots!
  • Plum Rain: another shower gel. This one is infused with umeboshi (japanese plum) and fresh plum
  • Boom!: solid "toothpaste"
  • Sea Monster: a kind of playdough that can be used as a soap, shampoo or even as a bath bomb!
  • Yuzu And Cocoa Bubbleroon: it's a macaroon-shaped bath bar!
  • Copacabana Body Butter

I'll do a short review of both shower gels and the solid "toothpaste" in this blog post and I'll show you the 3 others (Sea Monster, Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon, and Copacabana Body Butter) in another article!

Wash Behind Your Ears and Plum Rain SHOWER GELS

Wash Behind Your Ears is a shower gel that is part of the Easter Collection.

"You’ll want every inch of your body to smell as addictively fresh and familiar as this jasmine and rose gel - even your ears! So lavish your skin in a bouquet of floral fragrance and be uplifted by notes of neroli, while conditioning organic sunflower oil leaves skin feeling soft and sunny."

I think I'm biased by the orange color but I have the impression that it smells like carrots you would have freshly picked from the garden! lol But it contains a non negligible amount of Fresh Carrot Infusion after all :D

Ingredients:
Glycerine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Water (Aqua), Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Fresh Carrot Infusion, Stearic Acid, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Neroli Oil, Rose Oil, Jasmine Absolute, Sunflower Oil, Gardenia Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Colour 19140:1, Colour 15510, Colour 45350.

I measured the pH of it mixed with water and it's about 6.5-7.0, so a bit higher than the pH of your skin (5.5).

Overall I think this is a super fun shower gel because of the color, the smell and it has a thick gel texture that is nice because it doesn't go everywhere. That's typically a shower gel I like using like a special treat because of the adorable smell and texture. If you have sensitive skin, using it everday is maybe a bit too much because of the pH which is a bit higher than the neutral pH of the skin.

Plum Rain belongs to the same category of super fun shower gels!

"Downpours of umeboshi infusion and fresh plum juice are expected with spells of Sicilian mandarin oil to brighten the skin and refresh the mind. Carrageenan seaweed extract softens skin so you step out from rich, succulent cleanses with a sunny disposition."

Ingredients:
Umeboshi Infusion, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glycerine, Water (Aqua), Lauryl Betaine, Perfume , Limonene, Fresh Plum Juice, Osmanthus Absolute, Petitgrain Oil, Sicilian Mandarin Oil, Lactic Acid, Carrageenan Extract, Linalool, Colour 17200, Colour 42090.

The texture is also a thick gel. The color is purple and the first ingredient (largest amount) is Umeboshi Infusion. OK, I have to admit that I bought this shower gel because of the umeboshi. You know I love Japan and Japanese food so obviously when something contains umeboshi, I'm curious about it! It also contains Fresh Plum Juice!
I'm not really able to describe the scent but it has the salty smell of the umeboshi in my opinion. And I really like it!! Again, pH is about 6.5-7.0 as for Wash Behind Your Ears.

Have you seen the gold sheen of the "Wash Behind Your Ears" shower gel? and that yummy jelly texture of Plum Rain?

Boom! Toothy Tabs

"Life is unpredictable, but with gunpowder tea and charcoal you can be sure of explosive freshness. Nibble one between your teeth for a blast of sea salt, aniseed and black pepper with the taste of spicy cola."

These toothy tabs are perfect to replace your toothpaste when you're on the go - or just for the fun! You take one, chew it, add some water and brush your teeth like you would normally do and yes, it does lather.
I really enjoy the different experience! Moreover when you start brushing your teeth, they get dark grey/black because of the charcoal contained in the tabs. This is super weird and funny!!
It leaves the teeth clean and leaves a fresh taste in the mouth. Also, sodium bicarbonate is effective at removing tooth stain (1), it is actually abrasive. It can be interesting if you want to whiten your teeth a bit.
These are fun but I wouldn't use them everyday because they don't contain fluoride and because it's not ideal to use abrasive toothpaste too often. But overall, I think they're worth it for the fun experience and for when you're travelling. Would I repurchase them? Yes, probably!

The goodies for Easter!

And other products (not part of the Easter collection)

Lush only uses biodegradable foams as packaging materials. After a couple of minutes, you can see that they are dissolved in water (right panel).

I hope you liked this different type of articles. Have you bought something recently at Lush? Let me know, I'm curious! :D
