Holiday collections are coming and I can already feel the Christmas spirit all around!!

This year Dior has a new limited edition collection called Splendor. This unique collection takes inspiration from the "Esprit Couture" typical of the House of Dior. There are wonders and true gems in this collection inspired by the virtuosity of the Dior ateliers that focus on sequins.
Dior packaging for the Holiday collections is always on point. Every year I'm looking forward to seeing how it will look and it does not disappoint.

Diorific Matte Fluid #004 Luxury

Diorific Matte Fluids are new products launching for the Holiday Collection.

With the Matte Fluids, Dior creates a unique Couture accessory with bold elegance: a fine, delicately powdery cream that tinges lips and cheeks with a velvety veil of colour, equally matte and radiant. This limited edition boasts four essential, velvety shades: a soft pink, a flamboyant fuchsia, a rosewood infused with blue and a fiery red. The one I have is the red named #004 Luxury.

On the lips, Luxury is really comfortable and doesn't feel heavy. It doesn't dry the lips. It takes a few minutes to dry down to a satin finish. The finish is not completely matte nor glossy, it's in-between. It has a semi-sheer/semi-opaque coverage. You need a couple of layers to get it fully opaque. For the swatch pictures below I used a couple of layers but for everyday wear I don't mind the see-through finish of a single coat.  Note that the Matte Fluid is not a typical liquid lipstick, i.e. it doesn't dry completely matte and is not transfer proof. It has a good staying power, typically about 5 hours on me.

Concerning the color, it's an elegant neutral red with some pink undertones.

You can also use it on the cheeks as a blush. It does blend very easily to a natural look but for me, it's more a lip product. I've just quickly tried it on the cheeks and it works but I prefer using it only on the lips.

Diorific Matte Fluids are perfect for those who like matte finish but don't like drying formula. And the packaging? Can we talk about the packaging? It's gorgeous, a piece of art, and totally display-worthy! And it's limited edition so if you want it, don't wait!

The two 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow palette of this collection are sumptuous. They have the most exquisite sequin pattern and the level of details is pretty awesome. They definitely look festive and are again a real piece of art.

Smoky Sequins is the more cool-toned palette of the collection with white, black and grey shadows plus a beautiful gold for perfect smoky eye looks.

In this palette, there are 4 shimmery shadows plus a satin one (the black one). The shimmery shades have the perfect amount of sparkles to be easily wearable and to add much light and brightness to the eyes. Each color has a good color payoff, is super soft and easy to blend without fallout. They are not powdery.

#1 (upper left corner) a light-to-medium sparkly silver with a slightly pink sheen

#2 (upper right corner) a pearly white

#3 (middle) a bronze with silver sparkles

#4 (lower left corner) a medium grey with silver sparkles

#5 (lower right corner) a black with minimal sparkles

Overall I'm really happy with this palette. The shadows are buttery, so easy to blend and immediately brighten the eyes. I usually don't go for grey or black eyeshadows but I've worn it a couple of times to go to work (you can easily to do a soft smoky eye with it for a day time look or a more sophisiticated looksfor the evening) and I must say that was impressed with how it looked on the eyes! I'm sold, I really really love the palette and will have much use out of it! I especially love shade #1, 3, and 4 because you can super easily create a chic and über-elegant day time smoky eye look.
