Skin'Minute - Cosmetics made in Switzerland
5:55 PM
Hi there~
Today I have a special review about products from a brand I've just discovered. I'm really happy to talk about this brand on the blog because it's a Swiss brand :D
Skin'Minute is a professional range of cosmetics developed for Body'Minute institutes. The concept of Body'Minute wants to target active women that don't have much time to spend in institutes but still want to pamper themselves. For example, they offer all kind of cares for body, hair and nails at an attractive price and without appointement. They want to make beauty insititutes affordable for everyone, convenient, friendly providing quality services.
Body'Minute institutes are already available in France, Germany and the US and it's only in 2016 that the first 2 institutes opened in Switzerland (at Lausanne). From what I understood, the brand is especially well-known in France.
4 Skin'Minute products were voted "Product of the year":
Skin’minute - Lotion purifiante (Purifying lotion) Matt++ (2015 Product of the year)
Relax’minute - Huile Sèche (Dry oil) SUBLISSIME (2015 Product of the year)
Slim’minute - Spray JAMBES LEGERES (Relaxing leg spray) (2016 Product of the year)
Skin’minute - Sérum Cell Flash (2016 Product of the year)¨
Today I will have a review of the Dry oil and Relaxing leg spray. I also have the Cell Flash serum but I'm saving it for another article. I also have 2 other products from the brand, an exfoliant body soap and a hand cream.
Relax’minute - Huile Sèche (Dry oil) SUBLISSIME
CLAIMS:
For hydrated, silky and deliciously scented skin
Suited for body and hair
2 actions: it moisturizes and smoothes the skin for a more beautiful skin every day
Contains Ximenia (small tree of woodlands native to the tropics) oil and Vitamin E
INGREDIENTS:
Paraffinum Liquidum (mineral oil), Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Hydrogenated Polydecene (emollient), Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene (emollient), Ximenia Americana Seed Oil, Pafum (Fragrance), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E acetate, antioxidant), Alpha Isomethyl Ionone (fragrance), Citronellol (fragrance), Coumarin (antioxidant), Hexyl Cinnamal (fragrance), Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde (fragrance), Linanool (fragrance).
It contains mainly mineral oil, olive, sunflower, and Ximenia oil as well as other emollients. These ingredients help maintain the skin barrier and decrease transepidermal water loss. They make therefore a very intersting body care. After the fragrance, you can find a derivative a vitamin E (antioxidant) and fragrant ingredients. Note the presence of fragrant ingredients that can theoretically be irritant for sensitive skin. But considering this oil is to be used on the body and not the face, it's not such an issue.
As a side note, I personally don't mind mineral oil. There are a lot of myths surrounding mineral oil saying it's bad for skin. I've processed the info about mineral oil since some time now but I don't think there is anything to worry about. It's a great moisturizing agent that is safe to use. Mineral oil used in cosmetics is highly refined and purified and doesn't contain toxic contaminents. Moreover, cosmetic grade mineral oil doesn't clog pores. So overall, it's a great moisturizer and there is nothing to fear about it.
TEXTURE/SMELL:
The texture of the oil is really "thin". When you apply it, it leaves a light veil of moisture but it's not sticky.
I'm really bad at describing scent but I would say it's a warm and sweet scent, very comforting. It's not too strong.
What I also really really like is the spray packaging. It makes the application so convenient! I've been using it on my legs, arms and feet for about 2 weeks and it really helped make them feel less dry. It works wonders for the feet :D
Slim'minute - Spray Instense Jambes Légères (Relaxing leg spray)
CLAIMS:
Intense freshness, immediate and extended effect for divine legs feeling light all day long
Intense cold, Immediate effect
Effective even on tights
Key ingredients:
Menthol and Peppermint
Camphor
Advice: Sprays several time from ankles to thighs not forgetting the hollow of the knee.
INGREDIENTS:
Aqua, Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Menthol, PEG-15 Hydroxystearate, Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Metha Piperita Oil, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Oil, Cupressus Sempervirens Leaf/Nut/Stem Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Propylene Glycol, Laureth-3, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Parfum, Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Benzyl Benzoate, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal, Potassium Sorbate, CI 42090
As you can see from the ingredient list, the second ingredient is alcohol, which can be drying and has a cooling effect. That said, you shouldn't take this spray as a real skincare product (it will not moisturize your skin for example) but rather as something really useful for immediate relief of tired legs.
Once applied, you can definitely feel a cooling sensation, which helps with tired legs a lot. That sensation lasts a couple of minutes for me.
I like using it in the evening when I come back home after an exhausting day. It's refreshing! Now that the temperature is rising here in Switzerland, I think I will take it with me at the office to use it during the day.
So if you want an immediate effect that boost the engery of your legs, you will like this product. If don't want products that can be drying or if you have sensitive skin, this might not be for you.
Soap'minute - Savon exfoliant aux Algues (exfoliating soap with algae)
CLAIMS:
Contains exfoliating and remineralizing red seaweed
Ideal for all skin types, even sensitive skin
Use every 2 days in the shower
Hug all the curves of the body for a gentle exfoliation
It's quite a big soap (150g) but you can hold it easily. It has a delicious soap scent that feels clean and fresh.
It lathers well and is able to clean the skin efficiently providing exfoliation. The exfoliating particles are rather big so in my opinion I wouldn't really recommend it for sensitive skin.
Something I noticed is that it can make your skin feel a little bit dry. That's probably due to the presence of sodium palmate that can indeed be drying. So that's typically a cleanser that I wouldn't use every day or every 2 days but rather once or twice a week.
Hand'minute - Crème Mains et Ongles (hand and nail cream)
CLAIMS:
Moisturizes and protects your hands every day
Absorbs instantly, is not sticky
This hand cream is now my Holy Grail hand cream!! I've tried so many hand creams but have never been 100% satisfied with any of them. They were either not moisturizing enough or too greasy and sticky. This one is perfect, it's super moisturizing but strangely enough it doesn't leave your hands greasy. The cream is quickly absorbed.
That's definitely a hand cream I would repurchase and I totally recommend!!
That's definitely a hand cream I would repurchase and I totally recommend!!
Overall I like the Dry oil (Relax'minute Huile Sèche) because it's convenient to use and provides enough moisture. The Relaxing leg spray is fun because it provides immediate relief for tired legs, but if you have sensitive skin test it before using it. The soap is nice but again if you have sensitive that's not something I would recommend. And finally the hand cream is awesome. It's moisturizing, is absorbed quickly and doesn't leave the hands greasy. So yes, pretty amazing ;D
