Dior Fall 2015 - Cosmopolite Collection

12:59 AM

Hi everyone!

Today I have swatches of the new Dior collection for fall called "Cosmopolite". I posted the press release information about this collection some days ago HERE. You can have a look if you want to see what the whole collection has to offer.

The products I show in this article have something is common: their color! It's all about silver ;D Silver is one of the key colors of this collection.

Dior Vernis in shade 001 Miroir

OK, let's start with the nail polish called Miroir!
Miroir is a silver foil with a very good pigmentation. It is opaque in 2 coats and it works for stamping if you are wondering (cf Pshiiit). Like most metallic polishes, it shows any imperfection of your nails, so it's better to use it with a  ridge filling base coat or 2 coats of your regular base coat. That said, it's a beautiful polish that is perfect for an elegant and chic look.

Dior Addict Fluid Shadow in shade 025 - Magnetic

Dior Addict Fluid Shadow is a liquid eyeshadow that combines intense pigment with a mirror-like enamel finish.

"A Dior innovation: An ultra-fine, lightweight hybrid texture that illuminates the eyes with sensational mirror shine and long-wearing colour. In a single step, this ingenious makeup can dress the eyelid like an eyeshadow, or define the eyes with a stroke of liner."

According to Dior you can either apply it as an eyeshadow all over the eyelid or as a liner.

When I first tried to use it as an eyeshadow, I applied it directly to the eyelid and then blended it out using my fingers but it didn't turn out very nice. In fact much product was transferred on my finger and almost nothing was left on the eyelid. Then I read Ommorphia's review of the Fluid Shadows where Eugenia suggests patting the product into the skin rather than blending it and it worked much better. The key here is really to pat the product into the skin and to not try to blend it or massage it into the skin. If you follow this advice, you will get beautiful results and enjoy these Fluid Shadows!

Nevertheless, my favorite way of using it is to apply it as a liner. I think it makes the eyes bigger and brightens them. It looks super unique because the texture is quite reflective and strong. It's perfect for an original fall makeup. An interesting point: it seems to last forever (~10h).

FIX IT - 2-in-1 Prime & Conceal Face - Eyes - Lips
______________________________________________

Inspired by Backstage makeup techniques, Dior invents its first multipurpose concealer.

"Used as a skin perfector in your makeup routine or for touch-ups, FIX IT conceals facial blemishes,
helps erase undereye circles and dark areas, and primes the lips before applying lipstick."

"With targeted application on the face, FIX IT fills pores, erases fine lines and corrects pigment imperfections for a flawlessly even complexion.
Applied around the eye, FIX IT helps erase dark circles and smooths skin texture for more restful-looking eyes.
In touches on the lips, FIX IT evens out colour and fills grooves for optimal lipstick hold and colour impact."

upper part: ingredients of the core of the stick, lower part: ingredients of the outer core.

The center of the stick contains a part enriched with a soft-focus powder to produce an even and perfected skin surface.

The ingredients of the core are mainly emollients (polyglyceryl-2 triisostearate, isononyl isononanoate, bis-diglyceryl polyacyladipate-2, isostearyl hydroxystearate). The other ingredients are film formers and thickeners (methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, polyethylene) and viscosity controlling agents (cera microcristallina). The core is therefore very creamy and emollient and avoids that the concealer creases, flakes or dries your skin.

Around this central core, a full-coverage shade conceals color imperfections (dark circles, pigment spots and slight redness).

FIX IT exists in 3 different colors: light, medium and dark (I don't have the dark one, sorry).

This concealer might well be my favorite product from this new collection. I tried a few other concealers in the past but I never liked the finish or they always seemed to enhance dry patches I may have under my eyes. But this one is so emollient and gentle and the outer core offers a very good pigmentation that I really like this concealer. That's an item I would definitely recommend (I've used it everyday since I got it).
Oh, I also like using it to create Korean-style gradient lips. You first apply the concealer on the lips, then apply a bright lipstick only in the center of the lips and blend the color out to create a beautiful gradient.

From this collection, I've also just bought the blush (Diorblush Cheek Stick) and another nail polish. I will swatch and review these products in an upcoming article so stay tuned!
