Dior Trianon - Spring 2014: swatches!
8:21 PMHello,
I am excited to share swatches of some products from the upcoming Dior collection for Spring 2014 called Trianon.
Porcelain complexion and flashy lips, blushed cheeks and pastel eyelids, Dior Spring heroine loves pop culture, Enlightenment philosophers, and Couture dresses. A real Marchioness of her time. Modern.
In this second chapter of the Dior make-up history at Versailles, the home of the Avenue Montaigne brings back into fashion the eighteenth century through the private estate of Marie-Antoinette, the Petit Trianon. In this collection, Tyen captures the colors and highlights the intensity of this beautiful period. Pastel shades and pop colors collide, extreme matte and shine satin reveal the same beauty, iconic.
For more information concerning this collection, you can read the PR information HERE.
Here are the items I will review in this article :D
Let's start with the nail polish called Perlé (187)! In this collection there are 3 other polishes (Porcelaine, Bloom, and Bouquet). Perlé has a sheer base and is filled with much pink, purple, blue, and orange shimmer. And it dries to a beautiful matte finish. This type of matte finish reminds me of OPI Matte top coat, i.e., pure perfection! When you touch your nails with your fingers, you will have the sensation to touch silk. It's a very nice feeling! Moreover, it dries very fast, which is very convenient!
For this manicure, I layered Dior Perlé over a black (essie Licorice) and pink creme (essie Lovie Dovie). I'm currently not home so I don't have access to all my nail polishes but I think it looks super pretty over these colors!
I love that Perlé looks gorgeous over both light and dark colors! Maybe it's a bit difficult to see it in pictures but Perlé looks really beautiful over the pink creme and I guess you can see that it looks gorgeous over black, too! When I received Perlé, I was wearing Dior Malice (forest green creme) and it also looked awesome over it. I'm pretty sure I'll wear Perlé again on top of other polishes because I absolutely adore this polish!!
Next we have the beautiful "makeup palette for glowing eyes & fresh complextion". This palette contains 3 eyeshadows, 1 eyeliner, and 1 blush, everything you need for a beautiful makeup. Moreover, the packaging is gorgeous and so cute!
#1 (upper left corner) is a coppery chocolate brown with a pearl finish.
#2 (upper right corner) is a shimmery pistachio/linden green. It's an unusual color but it looks very fresh and is perfect for spring. I guess it will become a favorite of mine because it easily lights up your eyes.
#3 (lower left corner) is a pearly light pink.
#4 (lower right corner) is a matte black that you can use as an eyeliner.
#5 (middle) is a light baby pink blush.
All the colors are beautiful and work well together but all (except the eyeliner and blush of course) are shimmery and it may be a bit difficult to combine them easily in a single look. But the palette is really pretty and the eyeshadows are beautiful on their own so I'm very happy with this palette. My favorite color is the pistachio/linden green eyeshadow!
In this collection, there is a new lip glow color reviver balm in coral. I have the permanent pink shade of this lip balm and I love it! I've been using it so much that I almost finished it completely. That's why I'm very happy to see a new lip balm in this collection. The color is coral. It gives just a hint of color on your lips and moisturize your lips. It's divine! It looks very natural but make your lips look more beautiful!
Dior brings you high-definition perfecting makeup with the creation of Pore Minimizer. Inspired by backstage makup techniques, this exclusive primer instantly mattifies and refines the skin. It visibly minimizes pores for a perfect complexion.
Pore Minimizer has a formula filled with imperceptible optical correcting ingredients that target imperfection and deliver sheer correction. The formula is very nice because it blends with the skin very easily and doesn't leave a thick or oily feel. It leaves the skin soft and velvety. Honestly, I was very impressed with this product. It does instantly smooth your skin. I have visible pores on my cheeks near my nose and they disappeard completely with Pore Minimizer! It's also possible to use it for mattifying touch-ups throughout the day.
Backstage Eye Prime is formulated with a volatile oil. Once applied, it evaporates to set the makeup. I've been trying it for a few days now and it's a great eye primer for smoother, more vibrant shadows. It lasts all day long with no creasing! I'm very happy with it!
So what do you think of this collection?
To me, the nail polish "Perlé" and the Pore Minimizer are must-have products. Perlé is just so beautiful, I cannot get enough of it! I've been wearing it for 6 days (the combo shown here) and now all I want to do is put it on again! I also love the makeup palette because the colors are very pretty and the packaging is so cute! I've been using Dior lip balm for years and I'm super happy to see a new color! Since I got it, I've been using it almost every day. And finally, the eye primer works very nicely to make your eyeshadows pop a little more and offers you perfect wear!

Among the other products from this collection, I want the nail polishes in Bouquet and Porcelaine. And I have to see how Bloom looks like in real life. I also want the lipstick in Courtisane! And I also want to see how the mono eyeshadow in Songe looks like!
