I am happy to show you a mani I did just after Valentine's day.

/!\ This is not the true Lynnderella "Connect the hearts"!! I haven't seen any swatches from this super limited edition yet. However it's supposed to be like the regular Connect the Dots but with some hearts inside.

I used 2 coats of Sephora by OPI Frankly I Don't Give A-Dam from the Garden of Good & Evil collection (Fall 2011). It's a grey creme. To me, it seems a "true" grey creme because I couldn't see any green, blue or brown in it. I have the mini version of it but the application was great. I really love this polish :D

Then I used 1 coat of Lynnderella Connect the Dots and added some heart shape glitters that I found in a craft store. Finally, I used 2 coats of top coat.

Pucca nails!

Hello!

As promised, here is my mani with the second set of water decals I got from KKCenterHK. If you missed my Hello Kitty manicure, you can click here to see it.

The polish I used is OPI Keys To My Karma which is part of the Indian Collection (Spring 2008) but it's in the regluar range of OPI polishes. So it's easy to get it. It's a gorgeous and squishy red jelly. On the nails, it looks like a cherry red but when you apply it you can see some fuchsia in it. I got the impression I have pomegranate syrup on my nails! :D

I used 3 coats of it and then added the Pucca water decals.

Final verdict: I am really impressed by the water decals I got from KKCenterHK. they are easy to apply and look really nice on the nails. Moreover, their lasting power is great, you can easily keep them for 4-5 days without unsticking (I changed my polish after 4-5 days so maybe you can keep them longer but I didn't try). You can find these Pucca water decals here for $6.

Water decals application: You have to cut your pattern from the sheet of water decals. With tweezers, plunge your pattern in water for about 30 seconds. Take it out and peel it off from its support. If it's difficult to peel it off, plunge it again in water until you can easily peel it off. Then apply it on your nail and seal with a top coat.

I'm super happy to show this mani today! I used Douglas Absolute Nails -Sara for the base. You can see my review of this polish here. Then, I used water decals from KKCenterHK. If you don't know this online shop, I highly suggest you click on the link and see what they have in store because they have great nail art products and nail polishes! :D

Look, how great it looks on the nails! It's like if I had written it with a pen! It doesn't look like a sticker or something like that.

Final verdict: Yay!! I'm so enthusiastic about these water decals! They looks so great and they were super easy to apply on the nails! Moreover, their lasting power was great! I kept them for 4 days and they were still nice and perfectly sticked as on the frist day! I really love these water decals. They are metallic so they don't look like cheap stickers you would stick on your nails. It looks really nice!

Douglas - Sara

Hello!

At the end of last year, Douglas released a new line of polishes called Absolute Nails. Some of them are said to be dupes for famous Chanel polishes and all the colors look really pretty.
I chose a white polish with a strong gold shimmer, called Sara 07.

All the photos are taken under artificial light, without flash.

Final verdict: I felt in love with this classic, clean, and elegant polish. It's a white pearl polish with a really strong gold shimmer.When I was applying it, I was wondering if it was not rather a light gold polish with a white base. It has a pearl finish but not in the bad terms of it. It looks rather elegant and it was not tricky to apply. I applied 3 coats here to get full opacity and a nice and even look. Application was easy and flawless. The brush is a pro-wide type, with the same dimensions as an OPI brush. I wore it for 4 days without chipping. So I'm really pleased with this polish. The quality is really nice.

It's supposed to be a dupe for Chanel Pearl Drop. I don't have it but according to the pictures of Pearl Drop I've seen online, they indeed seem to be really close. You can find a list of Douglas-Chanel dupes here.

Here is the polish I layered over the Face Shop BK 901 that I showed you before. You can click HERE to see my blog post about BK 901.

I used 2 coats of Ozotic 529 on top of it. Ozotic 529 consists of very fine and smooth glitters that shift from blue to purple and orange.

Final verdict:Ozotic 529 is a gorgeous clear base polish packed with thousands of fine color shifting glitters. They shift from blue to purple, to pink, and to orange. It's a very fascinating polish because the glitters keep changing their color! Here I applied 2 coats to achieve a rather dense look. Application was flawless. The glitters spread well on the nails and the overall mani was really smooth. They are not rough like common glitters.

Hello!

Today I'll show you my base polish for my next manicure!
This is a black duochrome polish from the Face Shop. I bought it during my shopping trip in Seoul last August.

This last picture is there just to show how crazily beautiful it looks in the bottle. Look at this multichrome effect!! On the left is another polish from the Face Shop that I bought. It has a "platinium" finish and is a one coater. It's a gorgeous and great polish. I'll show it to you another time :D

Final verdict: BK 901 (BK stands for black) is a glass fleck duochrome black polish. In the bottle, the duo/multichrome effect is really strong but unfortunately this doesn't really translate to the nails. You can see some blue and pink but it's rather subtle. Nevertheless, it's a great polish that I like a lot. Application was easy. I used 2 coats.

Ozotic comparison: 502 vs 520

I've an Ozotic comparison to show you today: 502 vs 520.

I wanted to do this comparison because when I wanted to buy some Ozotic, I couldn't really tell the difference between those 2 according to the pictures I saw on the internet. So I hope this post will be useful for some of you :D

Final verdict: When they are side by side, they look completely different! 520 is warmer than 502.

520 shifts from rusty burgundy to red, to amber, to gold, and to orange while 502 shifts from gold to orange, to a light red with a touch of pink in it. On these pictures, I used 2 coats of 520 and 3 coats of 502 to reach full opacity. I didn't use a black or dark base coat. Of course, you can do it to save polish and to get a slightly different effect.

Ozotic 502

Hello~

It's Ozotic 502's turn today! It's a polish from their multichromatic line. According to piCture pOlish, 502's main colors are pink, orange, red, and gold.

All the pictures are taken without flash, under artificial light. I used 3 coats of Ozotic 502 over a clear base coat, no top coat.

Final verdict: It seems a little less multichromatic than its fellows 504, 504, and 506. The color change is not so abrut but more subtle. In terms of colors, it kinda looks like 520 (see my post on Ozotic 520 here) but 520 is more saturated and warmer. I would say it's a cooler version of Ozotic 520. Its main color is a coppery-pink than leans toward orange and gold. It's opaque in 3 coats. I didn't use a black/dark base here because I wanted to see how opaque it can become. However piCture pOlish recommands to use a black base to enhance the multichrome effect. So I'll have to try that!

Order of the Garter

Hello~

Here is my last A-England from The Legends collection. I previously reviewed Princess Sabra, Saint George, and Princess Tears. You can click on their respective name to show the corresponding post.

And today it's Order of the Garter's turn!

Just to give you the context, the Order of the Garter is the highest order of chivalry existing in England. We can already see the power and nobility in the name and thus in the polish!

Final verdict: Order of the Garter is a gorgeous bright royal blue polish packed with tiny blue flakes. There is a purple shimmer in the bottle that is present also on the nails but this is really subtle. On the nails, you can mainly see a sparkling and bright royal blue polish and the lighter blue flakes are also quite visible. Order of the Garter is the only one from The Legends collection not to be holographic but it has another strenght and this is its complex texture created by these gorgeous shiny flakes. They are really tiny and difficult to distringuish one by one to the naked eye but they create a complex and very interesting pattern! I must admit blue is not my favorite color for nails polishes but I was blown away by the Order of the Garter and really enjoyed wearing it! On the first coat, it's a little sheer but on the 2nd, it looks really pigmented an opaque! Application was easy! On the overall I am super happy with this polish and I'm sure I will wear it a lot!!

What do you think of it?
I'm really excited about it because I think it can be really useful when you go on holiday and don't want to redo your mani every 4 days or so or if you have a very busy week and you know you won't find the time to redo your mani. I'm very curious to try these GelColors because they seem to be like regular polishes but with an extra lasting power and they are not like common gels that I'm not fond of.

A-England - Princess Tears

Today, I'll show another polish from A-England the Legends collection. I already posted swatches of Princess Sabra and Saint George. You can click on their respective names to be led to the corresponding post.

So let's bring Princess Tears on the scene! Princess Tears is described as a silvered lilac holographic polish.

The above picture was taken with flash to show you the lilac in Princess Tears. It's really present on the nails but it doesn't photograph well (except with flash).

Final verdict: With every A-England polish I've tried so far, I'm always so impressed with their quality, elegance, and beauty! And Princess Tears follows this rule of thumb. It's an intriguing polish (as a lot of A-England in fact) because it's difficult to say if it's a silvered lilac or a silver with lilac in it. It's interesting because the purple keeps disappearing and reapparing on your nails as you wave them. It's a real duochrome IMO because sometimes you only see silver and the holo pattern while somtimes you clearly see the lilac in it. It's very fascinating to move your nails to see this change! In any case, the overall color is really pretty and elegant looking. The holo is rather scattered but really present! The application was perfect and it needed 3 coats to reach full opactiy!

Do you love flakies? I do! So I'll show a flakie polish from Ludurana. Ludurana is a Brazilian brand that has awesome polishes! They have a multichrome and holographic collection called Aurora Boreal, and some gorgoeus flakie polishes! They are 3 Free and have a nice application. If you don't know this brand, I highly recommand you take a closer look at it!

Here is Trovão! It's a clear polish packed with blue and green flakies!

Sorry some pictures are a bit blurry....I took this pictures some time ago and now know why I had this promblem. This issue is fixed now! However, you can still see how the polish is so I kept the pictures :D

Final verdict: Green flakies! I love that! :D So Trovão (this means thunder in Portuguese) is a clear based polish, placked with green-blue flakies. The main color that you can see when you have it on your nails is green. And when you move your hand, you can see blue. But green is definitely the main color. The particularity of this polish compared to other flakies is maybe that the flakies are rather small. In fact I prefer smaller flakies because it looks neater and cleaner in my opinion. Here I used 1 coat of Trovão over A-England Lancelot (you can see my post about Lancelot here). So you can reach quite a high density of flakies with already 1 coat. I'm very pleased with this polish and I'm sure it would also look awesome over green or blue! I'll have to try that!

A-England - St George

I have another polish from the new "The Legends collection" by A-England to show you! And it's St George, a gorgeous dark teal with holographic particles!

Final verdict: This color is so deep we can nearly lose ourselves in it! It's a really deep and dark teal with hologrpahic particles. The holo effect is not very strong, you can only see it in full sun or under a strong light but I think its function in this polish is not to display a rainbow on your nails but rather to create a trimdimentional and complex shade. This dark teal reminds me so much of medieval dresses made of green velvet (cf picture below). I've always dreamt of wearing such a gorgeous dress and when I wear St George, I have the impression I'm wearing such a elegant costume! St George is super pigmented. You will need only 1 coat to get full opacitiy and its application is flawless. It dries quite glossy!

Hello!

I've got another multichrome to show you today. It's Ozotic 507!

507 is described as a multichrome polish that shifts from golden yellow to khaki green with a metallic shimmer.

Final verdict: I love the colors in this polish! It shifts from a golden yellow to a light yellow green, olive, and, at extrem angles, to a deep forest green The multichrome effects is well present, you do not have to search for it. Here I applied 3 coats to reach full opacity (so I didn't use a black base). I really love this polish but I was really disappointed with its application. The formula is too airy and this creates a lot of bubbles! You really have to be careful and wait between the different coats to avoid this problem. Maybe it would be easier to layer 1 thin coat of 507 over a black base. That's what I will do next time I'll use it because otherwise it's too troublesome.

Princess Sabra!

Hello!!

Here is my first A England from the Legends collection, this is Princess Sabra, aka Tristam Eyes, in reference to Adina's lovely kitty, Tristam!
Princess Sabra is described as a golden taupe holographic polish.

Can you see how glossy it is? I wear no top coat on this picture!

Final verdict: To be honest, I hesitated to chose Princess Sabra instead of Ascalon....I was not sure I would like the color but I was so wrong!! Princess Sabra's color is so unique and complex. In the bottle, I thought it was a golden taupe holo but once on my nails I could see the green and olive undertones much better and the taupe was less proeminent. It is difficult to say of which color is made Princess Sabra because it's such an elaborated shade, very elegant and sophisticated. If I had to try to put it simply I would say it's a green olive holo with a golden taupe base color. The application of Princess Sabra was a real dream. You can use a regular base coat and 2 coats of polish to reach full opacity. What is truey amazing and reveals Adina's talent is the special finish of this holographic polish: it's super glossy!! I was really impressed because it's the first time I see a glossy holo!! All the pictures here are without top coat! I put a top coat afterwards and the holo effect is not affected. I think I need only one word to describe this polish: PERFECT! I'm so happy I have it! I'm sure I will use it a lot!

A England The Legends Collection: Bottle Spam!

Hello!!

I had an enormous and glorious surprise when I came back home tonight: 4 polishes from A England The Legends Collection were waiting for me!! :D

A England is really getting one of my favorite brands because Adina's polishes are simply gorgeous and because they are inspired from great legends and this brings such a classy atmosphere that you have the impression each polish is a real gem.

The Legend Collection is inspired by the story of Saint George and the dragon. This collection is a holographic collection!

I can't resist to post some bottle pictures before showing you them on my nails!

Saint George.

Saint George is a gorgeous deep teal holographic polish. The color is really deep and powerful, just as the knight George in the legend.

Princess Sabra (Tristam eyes).

Princess Sabra is a breathtaking golden taupe holograpic polish in the bottle. However on my nails (pictures to come soon), I see it as a green olive with a golden base. It's really stunning and beautiful! This color is really unique and difficult to describe! I've never seen such a polish!!

The second name of this polish is Tristam Eyes, in reference to Adina's lovely kitty, Tristam.

Princess Tears.

Princess Tears is a silvered lilac holographic polish. It looks so pretty and delicate!

Order Of The Garter.

And finally here is Order Of The Garter, an ocean blue holographic polish. It's really sparkly with a nice purple/pink shimmer and I've got the impression when I turn the bottle in my hands I can see some green. We'll see that in more details when I try it on my nails!

I'm so happy with these polishes. They already look amazing on the pictures I saw however they look 1000 times more beautiful IRL! And I cannot wait to try them all. Now I have a Princess Sabra on my nails and I'm in love! Full post will come tomorrow or Thursday so stay tuned!

Nailderella Franken!

Hello!

Yay~ I'm glad to present you my first Franken!! I played once with mixing clear nail polish and loose fine glitters but not in a bottle so it doesn't really count as a franken. So this one is my true first Franken!

Here I used different types of glitters: small purple, fuchsia, and aqua blue hexagons, larger fuchsia and charcoal hex. I also added blue diamonds and light purple bar glitters. I mixed them in a little jar.
For the base color of this franken, I used Orly Etoile + clear nail polish (50:50) + 2 drops of A-England Iseult + 2 drops of Essie Haute as Hello. I don't think the drops of Iseult and Haute as Hello were necessary.
Then I added the mix of glitters into the bottle that contained the base color. I shook well and it was done!

And here is the result!! I layered 1 coat of it, over 2 coats of A-England Iseult. You can see my full post about Iseult here. Iseult is a really gorgeous polish. So if you don't know it, click on my link :D

I really enjoyed wearing it!! I think it looks nice! I wore it for 1 day and then I wanted to see what it looked like with a jelly on top. So I added one coat of OPI So Many Clowns...So Little Time.

upper row (l-r): Essence Nail Art Glitter - 05 Shine Like A Star (blue diamonds); Essence Nail Art Glitter - 06 Glitter It (large pink hex); craft glitters (no specific name) in aluminium aqua blue glitters.
lower row: these are all glitters I found in a craft store. The brand is Hobby & Crafting Fun.

For the craft glitters, I first put some in clear nail polish to check that don't melt in nail polish.

I just used 1-2 hearts so I didn't get any on my nails...I should try to add more of them! :D

Ozotic 520

Hello~

I go on with my Ozotic swatches! Today I have Ozotic 520 to show you. It's certainly one of my favorite Ozotic!
520 is described as a multichrome nail polish that shifts from rusty burgundy to red, to amber, to gold, and to orange.

Final verdict: I LOVE this polish from the deepest of my heart! 520's main base color is coppery red, which can shift to amber, gold, and orange. It's really stunning and it kinda reminds me of autumn leaves! The multichrome effect is a little less dramatic than in 504 or 505 or 506, but it's still present and gorgeous!

Its formula was great, not too thick nor too thin and it needs only 2 coats to be fully opaque! So here I just applied 2 coats over bar nails (over just a regular clear base coat should I say).

I was super lucky this week because I received 3 nail mails! woooow~

The first one is my order from the Free Friday Polish from Llarowe. I was lucky to be able to buy 2 Lynnderella (Snow Angel and Very Pretty Vampire) and as I was one of the 10th orders, I won a free polish! *lucky!!* So I chose Lynnderella - The Glittering Crowd. Moreover, there was also a game on Llarowe FB page and I was also super lucky to win it!! You had to guess which polishes Leah Ann layered for her mani and if you won, you could chose one of these polishes! and I chose Picture Polish - Festival! Yay, flakies!

I also received my the polishes from my amazing swap with Traci from the Trace Face Philes! Yay~ I love all the polishes she sent me and I can already imagine doing candy or sandwich manicures with the jellies!

Hello!

Here I combined my two favorite polishes: Lynnderella - Connect The Dots and OPI - French Quarter For Your Thoughts!

Connect The Dots is composed of black and white hexagon, square and bar glitter with slight sparkle in clear base.

Can you also see the pretty shimmer in Connect The Dots!

For the base color of this mani, I used OPI - French Quarter For Your Thoughts (Touring America Collection, Fall 2011), a gorgeous grey creme. It's a rather green-brown based grey, no blue in it! On the below picture, I used 2 coats without top coat. It's so glossy and perfect! I really love this polish!

Final verdict: Do I need to tell I'm in love with Connect The Dots? It is the polish that made me fall in love with Lynnderella polishes. It's so unique! I love the black/white matte glitters, the diversity of the shapes, and the nice shimmer. On these pictures, I used 1 coat of Connect The Dots. You can achieve a more or less dense look according to the thickness of the coat(s) you use. I was impressed on how easy it is to have a good amount on glitters on the brush. You don't need to go fishing and searching for the glitters. The application is a pure dream!

French Quarter is also super easy to apply, opaque in 2 coats. It's a gorgeous shade of grey. And it's so creamy and glossy! I really love it!

Essence TE Crystalliced

Hello!

Today I have 2 polishes from the January 2012 Essence Trend Edition called "Crystalliced". The nail polish collection of this TE consits of 5 different soft shades.

I really love soft shades especially at the moment but I'm being more difficult with polishes, I chose them more carefully now, so I bought only 2 of them: 05 Frosted Champaign and 04 Ice Eyes Baby. The others shades are 01 It's a snow-woman's world, (grey creme) 02 Ice crystals on my window (rosy nude), and 03 Iced age reloaded (taupe with a purple shimmer).

So let's go to the first one, 05 Frosted Champaign! It's a light champagn colored polish with a very nice gold shimmer. Moreover, when you look really carefully, you can spot some tiny copper flecks in it. It's not that obivous unless you really look carefully at the nails, but I think it adds an interesting dimension to the polish!

04 Ice Eyes Baby is a baby blue with grey undertones. There is also a shimmer in it. In the bottle, you can cleary see a purple shimmer (cf the 1st picture of this post). However, on the nails, you rather see a silver/light blue/gold shimmer while the purple shimmer is hard to capture. It's very very subtle compare to the silver shimmer.

Final verdict: I'm really pleased with this soft shade collection by Essence because it fits the winter feelling exactly.

05 Frosted Champaign is a really nice and wearable "white" polish due to its champagn base color and its golden shimmer. Morever, the tiny copper flakes in it make it really interesting. However these flakes are not so pronounced so it's a bit hard to see them very well. Maybe more of them would have added even more depth to the polish. The formula was all right, nothing extraordinary nor bad. I used 3 coats to get a good opacity.

04 Ice Eyes Baby is one of my current favorite polishes!! Maybe you've already heard how much I love grey and grey creme polishes. Here you have a light blue greyish polish with a great formula and a very pretty shimmer. I've always wanted to have a baby blue polish but I've never been really happy with any of the ones I have (e.g., OPI What's with the cattitude), with 04 Ice Eyes Baby, blue and grey are so well-balanced that it is, for me, the perfect light blue I've been searching for a long time! The formula was great, with 2 coats to get full opacity. Maybe some people would have wanted the purple shimmer to be more present on the nails but I think it's pretty like it is! I really love this polish. It will be my go-to polish now!

The ultimate comparison: Ludurana vs. Ozotic!

Today it's the ultimate comparison between Ozotic 504, 505, 506 and Ludurana Emocionante, Show, and Reluz.

Concerning the different colors of the polishes:

Ozotic 504: main colors are royal blue-deep purple, you can also see some copper, red, burgundy, and orange.
Ozotic 505: main colors are green and purple , you can see some copper at certain angles.
Ozotic 506: mains colors are cyan and purple.

and

Emocionante: main colors are royal blue-deep purple, you can also see some copper, red, burgundy, and orange.
Show: main colors are green/teal and purple, you can see some copper at certain angles.
Reluz: mains colors are cyan and purple.

=> Do we have some dupes then?

First, let's compare Ludurana Emocionante with Ozotic 504. On the index, it's 2 coats of Ozotic 504, 2 coats of Emocionante on the middle finger, 2 coats of Emocionante over A-England Lancelot (very dark red almost black) on the ring finger, and 2 coats of Ozotic 504 over black on the pinkie.

Ozotic is quite sheer. Even with 3 or more coats, you cannot reach full opacity, it gives a jelly look. On the contrary, Emocionante is fully opaque with 2 coats. However the colors in both polishes are the same: deep blue and purple with copper and burgundy.

Then let's compare Ludurana Reluz with Ozotic 506.

Here again, the Ozotic (506) is sheerer with a jelly look. When they are layered over black, the have exactly the same shif in colors.

Finally let's consider Ludurana Show and Ozotic 505.

It's the same again. Ozotic is sheer while Ludurana is opaque with 2 coats. Both polishes display the same range of colors.

On the above picture you can see the difference in terms of opacity between Ozotic (504 here) and Ludurana (Emocionante here). Both are 1 coat over bare nails.

Final verdict: The different Ludurana-Ozotic couples (Emocionante-504, Show-505, and Reluz-506) possess the same range of colors and are thus very close. Emocionante and 504 show both royal blue-purple-red-copper, Show-505 green/teal-purple, and Reluz-506 cyan-purple. The only difference between them are the opacity. Ludurana polishes are lot more opaque than Ozotic. That's why you can use Ludurana by themselves while it's better to layer Ozotic over a dark base. What is also super fun is that you can stamp with these Ludurana multichromes (cf my post about it).

So if you prefer opaque polishes and love stamping, I suggest getting the Ludurana while if you like trying different layering combinations, Ozotic polishes should be your choice!

Their price is also a little different. Ludurana multichromes cost $14.0 for 8mL (1.75/mL) and Ozotic are $17.5 for 15 mL (1.17/mL).

PS Not all Ooztic polishes are sheer. Here I'm only talking about 504, 505, and 506! Ozotic 520 and 507, for example, don't need to be layered over a base color.

Here is a comparison between Emocionante, Reluz, and Show.

On the index is Emocionante, middle finger and pinkie Show, and ring finger Reluz. 2 coats of the different Ozotic are painted over bare nails. On each picture, the bottle I'm holding Reluz.

My camera turns the green of Show into blue, sorry! Show looks green IRL!

The above picture was taken with flash. It shows you the main base color of the different polishes.

This last picture was taken outdoor. The colors are accurate. You can see the green in Show that you don't have in Reluz.

To summarize:

Emocionante: main colors are royal blue-deep purple, you can also see some copper, red, burgundy, and orange.
Show: main colors are green/teal and purple, you can see some copper at certain angles.
Reluz: mains colors are cyan and purple.

Final verdict: All of them are all really multichromatic! My camera keeps turning the green into blue so don't be wrong, Show looks more green/teal than blue and is thus different from Reluz. What is really impressive about these Ludrana are their opacity. Here I used only 2 coats over bare nails so no need for a black base. You can also stamp with them. You can see an example here.

Here is the 1st post of my "comparison series". You may have noticed Ozotic 504, 505, 506, and Ludurana Emocionante, Show, and Reluz share some similarities. So I'll compare all of them. I'll start with a pure Ozotic comparison (504 vs 505 vs 506), in the following post a pure Ludurana comparison (Emocionante vs Show vs Reluz) and finally I'll show you the ultimate Ozotic vs Ludurana comparison!lol

So let's start with the Ozotic comparison!

On the index is Ozotic 504, middle finger and pinkie 505, and ring finger 506. 2 coats of the different Ozotic are layered over A-England Lancelot (you can see my post about Lancelot here). On each picture, the bottle I'm holding is Ozotic 505.

As you can see on this 1st picture, they are all multichrome. For exampe, 504 displays royal blue, pink, purple and copper, while 505 teal/green, purple, and copper and finally 506 cyan and purple. On the above picture 505 and 506 seem close but this is due to a trick of my camera that tends to turn the green of 505 into blue. IRL they are both very distinct (green for 505 and cyan for 506). I insist on the distinct difference between them. It's not a slight difference! You can really see that they are different!

Here again, my camera turns 505 blue but it's green in real life and thus very different from 506, which is blue/cyan. 506 and 504 are color-accurate.

The above picture is an outdoor picture. You see the green of 505 better! Yay~ Here all the colors are accurate!

The above picture was taken with flash. It shows you the main base color of the different polishes.

And finally you can see the purple you've got in each polish. The purple in 505 and 506 is mostly identical, in 504 it's more red-toned.

To summarize:

Ozotic 504: main colors are royal blue-deep purple, you can also see some coppery red and orange.
Ozotic 505: main colors are green and purple , you can see some copper at certain angles.
Ozotic 506: mains colors are cyan and purple.

Final verdict: All of them are rather sheer (I'll show you in my Ozotic vs Ludurana comparison post), so you need to layer them over a base color. A dark color will show the multichrome effect better. They are all very multichromatic! You move your nails from 1mm and you can see a different colors! There is no trick in my pictures! You can really see that in real life! 504 and 506 shift from blue to purple while 505 from green to purple. 504 is a warmer polish than 506. 504 has a warm-royal blue as a base color and it shifts toward copper-purple. 506 shifts from cyan to a lighter purple. So they are all different and beautiful! Don't forget most cameras tend to turn green into blue so that may be confusing and make you think 505 and 506 are similar but I think I've demonstrated here (esp with the outdoor picture and the picture taken with flash) that they are both different! :D

Hits no Olimpo! Swatches!

Hello~

Yesterday I received my amazing and unbelivable swap with Rafa from Nail Ink and among the lovely polishes she sent me, there were all the polishes from the Hits no Olimpo collection! I couldn't resist to try them. As I didn't know which one to try first, I swatched them all on a nail wheel. Of course, I'll swatch them on my nails and show you all this beauties. But I also think it might be useful to have them all in one post.

Just a few words on the brand. Hits Speciallità is a Brazilian brand and they released last year a gorgeous collection of holographic polishes! Be aware this is not a 3Free brand (there are some toluene, a formaldehyde resin and dibutylphtalate in them) and they stink. If you want a 3Free alternative for holographic polishes, you can go to Ludurana or Glitter Gal. A-England will also soon release a new holo line!

Then the nail wheel swatches. All the swatches are 2 coats of polish (without top coat), no flash, artificial light (no sun).

Lancelot is from A-England It's a blackened red, almost black. GG = Glitter Gal.

On the above picture, I wanted to compare Artemis, Hefesto, and Glitter Gal Silver 3D Holo (GGNP 707H) as holo top coats. Glitter Gal and Hefesto are in real life identical, or at least very close. On the swatch here, I used a thicker coat of Gliter Gal so it seems a little more holo but if you apply the same amount, Glitter Gal is not more holo than Hefesto. They are both amazing top coats, very very holographic! Artemis also works as a top coat but gives a frostier effect, it's more metallic and slightly less holo. This is due to the metallic finish.

I also added China Glaze LOL and TTYL to see the difference in terms of holo effect. China glaze have even finer holo particles and look more "matte" than Hits holo. Hits are more glossy. You can see and feel the difference also when you touch them.

Hermes has the same kind of metallic finish as Artemis.

I'll do swatches on my nails soon! But I've also prepared comparison swatches between Ludurana Show, Reluz and Emocionante, and Ozotic 504, 505, and 506!

Amazing swap with Rafa from Brazil

Hello~

Excitement overwhelmed me when I received a box from my friend Rafa today!! She sent me so many amazing polishes and goodies. Rafa is the co-owner, with 3 other lovely girls, of Nail Ink. If you don't know their blog, go and have a look. There are always great polishes and swatches to look at :D

When I first heard of Hits holographic polishes (Hits no olimpo) and Ludurana Aurora Boreal collection, I so wanted to try these polishes and at that time Llarowe didn't have them on her website (yeah, we started talking about this swap at the very begining of October!), that my friend Rafa agreed to swap with me! BTW, she is the nicest and loveliest girl I've ever known through polishes! Thank you, Rafa!

At first I wanted just a few polishes (less than 10) and then we kept adding polishes to arrive to this crazy amount I'll show you in the underneath pictures!

They all have multicolored flakies except Trovão, which has green and blue/teal flakies. I can't take my eyes off Trovâo. It's really beautiful, mesmerizing!

Ludurana Aurora Boreal: Show, Reluz, Emocionante, Esplêndido.

Hits flakies: Lambada and Samba.

Lamabada has a multicolored flakies in a clear base, while Samba has green flakies in a green base. Samba is really beautiful, it's also duochrome. You can see blue in it.

Ana Hickmann Reflex, Relux and Glow.

Ana Hickmann is a brand I didn't know, but I'm always happy to try new brands! These polishes are a present from Rafa. Reflex is a purple/green duochrome, Relux is a dark green shimmery polish, and Glow has red/orange-green flakies!!

Passe Nati - Baile, Risqué - Violeta Acinzentado, Rivka - Jenny.

These again are a gift from Rafa. The first one (Passe Nati - Baile) is a white/yellow/green shimmery polish. Risqué - Violeta Acinzentado is supposed to be a dupe for Chanel Paradoxal (I have it so I will compare them, but they do seem really similar). Rivka - Jenny is a gorgeous charcoal holo. It doesn't look that holo in the bottle here but it is on the nails.

Ludurana multichrome - Emocionante

First of all I'd like to wish you all a happy new year and all the best you could desire for 2012!! I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you, who came here on my blog to read, comment on my posts or to just look at my swatches. Sincerely, thank you!

In terms of polish trend, flakies and duo/multichromes seem to be the trendiest this year!

So let's start this year with an amazing multichrome polish, Emocionante by Ludurana. Most of you must be familiar with this brand by now but if you don't know, Ludurana is a 3 Free Brazilian brand that have amazing holo, flaky and multichrome lines. They will also launch a new awesome duochrome line in January. So stay tuned!

As you can see here, it's also quite sparkly!

Final verdict: There are so many colors in it! This is sincerely amazing! The color shift is very quick. I mean, you move your nails and your immediately see another color! This is really fun!
The main colors are a deep blue and purple and under a cloudy sky or in the sade, you'll see the red part of Emocionante showing up the most.

In terms of color shift, it looks like Ozotic 504, which I swatched here. I had the impression while wearing Emocionante that the red/pink in it showed most than in Ozotic 504 but I'll do a proper side-by-side comparison to be sure and to see the differences (if there are any).

This polish is very opaque. I used here 2 coats (without any dark base color) but 1 could nearly be enough. I didn't try to stamp with it but as it posses the same properties as Ludurana Show, I guess it also work with it. I'll try that later.

Look at what I just found on Ludurana FB page! A brand new line of duochrome polishes!

The colors seem different from the colors of Hits, Ozotic or Luduran Aaurora Boreal multi, their previous multichrome line, at least some colors!

Ludurana flakies: Sol

What about some flakies?

I previously showed you Zoya - Yasmeen, which is my base color for the following mani. I added 2 thin coats of Ludurana - Sol on top of it. Sol is made of a clear base with flakies that shift from red/copper to orange, yellow and green.

/!\ Be aware that Ludurana flakies will be soon discontinued so if you love one of them (or more of them :p), you shouldn't wait for too long before buying them or you soon won't be able!

The following pictures were taken in natural light. It shows the base color (Yasmeen) and the flakies their usual, most accurate look....I mean, what you see most of the time...

The flakies main color is red. Yeah, not pure red, a coppery-red should I say.

The following pictures were taken in my lightbox to show the different colors the flakies can take.

You can spot orange, yellow, and green flakies!

Final verdict: I have 2 Ludurana flakies (Sol and Relâmpago) and I really appreciate both of them. I'm usually not a strong lover of common flakies that shift from orange to green because most of the flakies I saw before are rather large and dense. Ludurana flakies are smaller (IMO, I haven't done a side by side comparison) and less dense. And I really prefer this look! I even LOVE this kind of flakies. They are more wearable! Here I used 2 thin coats of Sol over Yasmeen (from Zoya). Of course, if you use thicker coats to can have a higer density of flakies on your nails.

Zoya - Yasmeen

I hope you all spent a nice and wonderful christmas!

Today I'll show my base polish for my next mani. This is Zoya - Yasmeen.

Yasmeen is described by Zoya as a "dark blue-toned purple base with very strong red-toned medium purple shimmer and hints of gold duochrome. The ultimate complex purple for maximum drama." Honestly I don't really see the dark blue-toned purple, to me it's more red-toned and not blue at all. But there is effectively a very nice gold shimmer.

Final verdict: Yasmeen is a very nice purple polish with a gold shimmer. The purple is red-berry-toned. Application was flawless. I used 2 coats to get full opacity. When I compared it to Essence's True Love, I had to use 3 coats. So maybe it depends on how much you load your brush.

Ludurana - Magnifica, a gorgeous light blue holo!

I'm back with a holo polish! It's been a long time since I last wore a holo...oops..

It's another Ludurana polish, the Brazilian brand that sells amazing holo, multichromes and flakies polishes (you can look for Ludurana in my tag list). Magnifica is part of the famous Aurora Boreal collection. Ludurana polishes are 3 Free and perfumed. The smell is really light, so don't worry and it doesn't last very long. It's very subtle.

All the following pictures were taken under artificial light (no sun).

It is decribed as a Robin's egg blue linear holographic nail polish and I can assure you the holo is really strong but unfortunately it was a bit difficult to get it on camera.

Final verdict: A light blue holo! Yay~ this is not that common and I really like it, more than I thought I would! The holo effcet is really strong and not affected by top coats. And it doesn't look dull in the shade. Application was a real dream, a specific base coat was not needed and it was opaque in 2 coats. The forumula is closer to Glitter Gal formula than Nfu Oh's for example but it's thicker than Glitter Gal and also more opaque. The brush is very nice, no problem here! This is a total win! I don't want to take it off :p

Ludurana Relâmpago : multicolored flakies!

Multicolored flakies are bumping up on the net and are becoming super popular. A lot of brands are now making multicolored flakies,e.g. Hits Speciallità with Lambada, Ludurana with Arco-Iris and Relâmpago, Finger Paints, with Asylum and Twisted, piCture pOlish with Festival, and Nubar with Opulent Pearl that I've just seen on Scrangie's blog.

So I decided to show you Ludurana - Relâmpago today!

2 coats of Relâmpago (Ludurana) over 2 coats of Ski Teal We Drop (OPI).

Relâmpago is a charcoal base jelly polish with green, blue, teal, orange, yellow flakies!

Ludurana is a Brazilian brand that also carries holo and multichrome polishes. I've already tried 1 holo and 1 multichrome from them and was really impressed by their quality! This is a very nice brand and it's 3 Free!

Final verdict: Relâmpago has multicolored flakies in a charcoal base. Concerning the flakies, there are a lot of different colors (green, blue, teal, yellow, orange) and the size is not the same for every flake. The application was very nice. There was no dragging problem. It was just perfect! The flakies seem to be part of the base polish because the overall look is so smooth. And I have the impression I have precious stones on my nails :D

I also painted 2 coats of Relâmpago on a fake nails with no base coat so that you can see the effect of the charcoal base.

In fact, the pigmentation of the base is very light so that it doesn't change the base color of the polish you layer Relâmpago over (see the pictures below).

On the left picture, on the left nail, 2 coats of Relâmpago over a fake nail without any base color. The right nail is just the fake nail without anything. You can see the very light tint that Relâmpago gives to the base color. Click on the picture to enlarge it.

And here is Ski Teal We Drop (OPI) on its own (2 coats).
